Clay is too dry or hard to work withUpdated 19 hours ago

Clay is often harder when you first take it out of the packaging and softens as you work with it.

When you start working with your clay, you can ‘wedge’ it.  This is a technique similar to kneading dough.

To wedge the clay, start by pressing the the flat of your palm and push the clay into your work surface, and then folding it over itself and repeating. As you do this, the clay will become easier to work with.

If the clay is dry, it will also be hard. If your clay has arrived dry, please contact our team and we’ll be able to help you.

In order to stop your clay from drying once you’ve used it, keep it in a airtight container - you can use a plastic food container or wrap it in plastic food wrap.
